The questions patients most often ask us before deciding to book.
Private varicose vein treatment in the UK typically costs between £1,500 and £5,000 depending on the method, provider, and whether one or both legs are treated. At Liverpool Varicose Veins Clinic, ClariVein starts from £2,650 per leg — fully inclusive of all associated costs including the scan, procedure, and follow-up.
ClariVein and laser (EVLA) treatment are similarly priced at most UK clinics. However, ClariVein has a significantly lower recurrence rate — 2.8% at five years versus 38.6% for laser. Patients who choose ClariVein are far less likely to need repeat treatment, making it considerably better value over the long term.
Yes. We offer 0% interest finance through Chrysalis Finance on all treatments over £500. ClariVein for one leg can be spread over 12 months from approximately £220 per month. Finance is subject to status and available to UK residents aged 18 and over.
The NHS has significantly restricted varicose vein treatment and now only treats patients with serious complications such as bleeding, significant skin changes, or active leg ulcers. The majority of patients with varicose veins — even symptomatic ones — are no longer eligible for NHS treatment. Private treatment is the most reliable option for most patients.
The initial consultation for varicose veins costs £225, which includes a free Colour Duplex Ultrasound Scan — a diagnostic investigation worth £150 if purchased separately. There is no obligation to proceed with treatment after your consultation. The initial consultation for thread veins is completely free of charge.
No. Our prices are fully inclusive. The cost of ClariVein ablation covers your consultation, ultrasound scan, the procedure, any foam sclerotherapy performed on the day, your follow-up appointment, a shower bag, and direct phone access to the team post-procedure. You will not receive any additional invoices.
